Posters were never meant to be collected, just to advertise a product or event for a short period of time. Pasted on walls in the open air they soon deteriorated and thus are found in various condition. Restoration can deminish the signs of wear, depending on the kind and degree of damage. In most cases a poster will be backed on linen or japanese paper, flattened, cleaned and in some cases retouched. Galerie Stylo only works with experienced restorers who know which materials and techniques to use.

To describe the condition of posters they are graded from A to C:

A (excellent)

A- (very good)

B+ (good)

B (fair)

B- (poor)

C (very poor)

This scale is also in use with the IVPDA (International Vintage Poster Dealers Association) and its members.

The measurements as stated in the descriptions are given in centimeters, rounded to the nearest halve. Unless mentioned otherwise, measurements of the sheets are given.

All posters and prints for sale are guaranteed original first printings. In case it concerns a second or later printing, this will be clearly mentioned.
